Endodontics

 

Endodontics is the area of general dentistry that concentrates on diagnosis and treatment of problems with the insides of the teeth, including the soft tissues known as dental pulp. 

 

The most common endodontic procedure is the root canal, which is performed to save the tooth when the tooth becomes infected due to decay, cracks, chips, or trauma.  Root canals can save teeth that would otherwise have to be extracted.

 

Root canals don’t have to be painful as they were years ago.  Dr. Krasowski uses only state-of-the-art technology to provide you with the most sophisticated, effective and pain-free treatment possible. 

 

Dr. Krasowski will explain the procedure to you before hand, addressing any questions or concerns you may have.  Radios, pillows and other amenities can be made available to further ensure your comfort and relaxation.  Conscious sedation is also an option for more fearful patients.

 

Once you are ready, Dr. Krasowski will administer local anesthetic as gently as possible and ensure your comfort once again before beginning the procedure.  With the use of local anesthetic, a root canal offers virtually no discomfort.  Treatment will usually be completed in 1 to 2 hours. Dr. Krasowski can prescribe pain medication to ease any tenderness you may feel after the procedure is completed.
